Bruce is founder and CEO of Universal Management, a consulting firm that builds global partnerships. His experiences includes serving as EVP, Marketing and Business Development at Internet Shopping Network (ISN), a USA Networks company now operating as IAC, where he developed partnerships with companies such as AOL and ATT. His work resulted in over a 3x increase in company revenues. He also led the M&A efforts of a $500M+ transaction that merged ISN’s FirstAuction.com and FirstJewelry.com businesses with Styleclick, a publicly traded company. Subsequently, Bruce was engaged as Styleclick’s EVP, Business Development and Strategic Planning where he forged partnerships with Primedia, Viacom, Hachette Filipacchi and BET, among others.
In his capacity as Chief Executive Officer of Thwapr, a B2B provider of mobile video technologies enabling brands to monetize video content, Bruce established deals with organizations such as the National Football League (NFL), National Hockey League (NHL) and Cablevision/MSG Varsity.
Bruce’s extensive experience in licensing and intellectual property includes serving as Managing Director of Synthetica LLC, a consulting firm providing investment guidance to mid-market companies seeking to monetize and protect their science and technology-based intellectual property. In addition, Bruce was recruited by Bandai America, one of the world’s largest toy makers, to serve as SVP, Worldwide Licensing and Marketing for MY-CD, Bandai’s interactive division specializing in music and entertainment. In this capacity Bruce successfully licensed over 300,000 digital properties. Under Universal Management, Bruce has provided strategic guidance and licensing expertise for companies such as HSN, RJR Nabisco, QVC, Dennis Conner Sports and EuroDisney. Bruce is also the co-inventor of numerous patents related to mobile technology.
Bruce holds a BS in Business Administration from Suffolk University. He has served as a member of New York City’s Community Board 2, representing Greenwich Village, Little Italy, SoHo, NoHo, Hudson Square, Chinatown and the Gansevoort Market. A passionate food-lover, Bruce has owned restaurants in places such as SoHo and the Caribbean and was CEO of WorldWide Thai Ltd, a global food and housewares business that he formed with Marvin Traub, former Chairman of Bloomingdales, to produce and distribute the Thai Chef line of products.
